i was gleefully watching the news and online community just made sure it remains as awitness to posterity...

christmas was very subdued..... called up reena and wished her.....but then 30 days have gone by after the  attack on bombay and still the perpetrators are not jailed and they are  thumbing their nose at the world and india....i am pained at the irresponsible childish manner in which the pak govt is behaving at the episode...the pak  govt is a puppet at the hands of the army there and the army is being cuckolded by C I A....i have listned the sashi tharoor,the ex deputy to secretaty general of UN,and he went on national TV (X news) saying that CIA has over 15 years of close relationship with pak army and it was they who gave support to present day afghan terror modules during the russian invasion ....now that is clearly saddening...a clear case of short sighted and selfish management..the world at large  has been put to pain over repeated such nonsense by various leaders lack of insight at the world community as a whole.

lets hope all this get washed out in a few/couple of years.....for i think even that much time is too much.

MY VIEW OF BRINGING ABOUT A DIFFERENCE

AFTER SEEING THE CARNAGE IN BOMBAY THE WHOLE NATION IS IN A FIT OF RAGE AND REQUIRE A CHANGE....

the below is what i feel it may help,i had sent this to the media"india today" and in a network  on face book called "citizens for change"  http://www.citizensforchange.in/

1.let the government enact a law wherein no political party will have candidates with criminal back ground

2.if later found guilty of such suppression of fact let that party be taken away the previlege of a national/regional party.

3.let our constitution be amended to have educated  as possible candidates only

4.let there be CONSTITUTIONAL amendments to have a transparent running of government departments

5.let there be constitutional amendments to have the people to cancel their elected representative and nullify their post if 

found guilty of corruption or even if named as a suspect with a prima facia of a collution to any crime or anti national activity

6.let there be laws enacted that has corruption be made a anti national activity and anybody indulging be penalised with death/life sentence

7.let there be laws enacted to make every indian citizen to undergo 2 to 3 years of compulsary armed forces services  

  on they  attaining the age of 18-25 years

8.let any national or state party be immediately be banned if they take up any caste or religious based agenda.,and they 

  should not be allowed to participate in any elections

9.let the present government ask for a list of people having swiss bank accounts from the government of swiss 

and make the list public,and investigate how so large an amount came about to those individuals or corporates

10.let the police have no political interference

11.let the armed forces be not be under equipped,and NSG used as a personal body gaurd to any politian of any party

12.let Auditor and accountant  generals(comptroller of audits) recomendations be strictly adhered to every year

13.let there be laws enacted to make  media never resort to glorification and sensationlising any news

14.let the atheltes pay be a standard one and all atheletes who earn more do compulsarily 5 to 10 years of public service 

15.let the corporate houses take responsiblity of supporting the rural with job reservations

16.let our educational system be  revamped and education be not made as a business and have a more lab oriented teaching 

    than route and reply question papers to get higher marks/grades

17.let there be laws enacted so that teachers get paid more than politicians,sportsperson,cinema field work force

It is really with great humility i write this post
my indebtness to our security force's officers who laid their lives in bombay in the sensless attack on hotel taj,oberoi,trident and nariman house and CST ( the above photos were at C S T) .while simply saying my deepest condolenses to their families will be a little act of thankfulness that i can do staying in chennai

my daughter in dubai called me late night to say how bad she and her colleugues are feeling due to the terror acts in bombay and i had to pacify her young mind....so that she should not feel low in her job

my class mate from school had mailed our group about how he wanted to write to the president and the primeminister and the cheif justice about the conditions of police workforce and their well being....

while the terror was lashing the west of india

we in chennai experienced the worst cyclone in 25 years.....all of the cities major roads were flooded....or un motorable....the cooum flowed to the brim...my run on the beach on friday morning was a highlight as i was the only guy on the beach till 7 am....i took a video of the cooum and also of the rainbow that peeked at chennai....i will upload them soon

MOPSY

ok......this is the new addition to the household.....a very pampered cocker spaniel....she has a habit of simply keeping on walking for as long as 10 to 15 minutes.....she will just get up from where she is sitting...which is usually under the table.....and she will start walking.....all my other dogs....especially rusty and googles were just totally surprised by this act.....rusty just never walks....goggles only paces when ever food is about to be served...but this new maniac....just simply keeps on walking...walking...and...walking...

mopsy loves to chase lizards and rats....or even ants.....only her speed is very slow.....for a half evening she was simply engrossed in my malli flower bush.....she had smelt a rat...!!!!

she has a very smelly ear wax.....and i solved it by using a combination of isopropyl alchohol,vinegar,boric powder and betadine....just mix all of them in a prerequired propotion and spray a squirt in her ears and then wipe with a cotton swab or cotton ball......but what happens after is fun to watch.....mopsy goes down on her sides and simply rubs and rubs her ear lobes to the cloth on the ground......and does a roll....and does a repeat every two minutes.....this she does for a whole two hours..or so...and then she will settle down....

last sunday i ran a 15k with my running groupwe started at 5.10 a.m(i ran with the 30k group).....(the bottom pic is me at 5k point)......i did the 10k in a good 1 hour 8mints....(middle picture)then i started to give out water to other runners who were coming ......then a little while later came kk and satish,who asked me to come back with them....i picked up a gatorade and started back slowly...the next 2,5k was cool and then i crossed the kelambakkam/kovalam bridge bridge(top picture)...saw a maruthi swift smashed to pieces on the road....the car was hit in the front..side...and the back had caved in....so i walked and ran from there to the 5k point(did you all notice the garmin on my wrist...a gift from shahid).....stayed there...helped all the rest who crossed...hari,ram,narayan,rajesh,bhargavbalaji,arun(guy lost his cap on the bridge when a bus swooshed it)... srivats was taking snapsand giving refreshments at 5kpoint....in fact this photos were from his camera with a sigma 18-200 cannon.returned back in the pickup with the last man.....had a good breakfast....and ashwini dropped myself and ramani back at dimensionsat 11 a.m

my delayed post

i have been quite not active on the blogosphere.....partly due to lack of initiative....but then...let me catch up

1....my daughter left abroad for work in dubai.....i felt like VERY PROUD.....her first flight...that it turned out to be international....wow...i thought...she left on september 19th....iam nearly a month behind....i wish you success abroad" chokki"

chennai marathon

the race day came very smoothly on me.(31august)

i woke up a little before the alarm went off....hit the loo...and started my stretching....was very happy that i was fresh....i knew only the heat will be against me from doing a 2.30 mints half today.

left home after a last minute loo visit.i was carrying a 500 ml of elecrol,4 alpenlibe,50 ml honey.only thing i was a bit on the dilemma was when it came to the shoes....i chose to go with Ascis kayano 13...againt the new Asics 2130 ....MAY  BE i shouldnt have on retrospection.

i was  at the venue at around 5.50 am....it was just a 15 mints walk from home any way...

i saw that the crowd was going to be big.....soon it was much much bigger than i thought....around 4000 plus i think....i stretched a little....saw venky...spoke  for a while...had a short limbering up run for 300mts....and then i waited ,k.k was carrying a chennai runners bib and pinned it on my back and others were there ram,tiger,ramani,rajesh,shahid gave  me a gel pack,shahul and i stretched down on the pavement   ...they did not flagoff at 6.30.....instead there was a oath taking....and speech from kanimozhi,and mr.gill....whats this i thought....finally the flagoff at 6.40 am.....the start was good....rajesh asked me...hey planning a sub 2 hours??...i said i was hoping to do a 2.30...but i know after 8 a.m it will be too hot...so a 3 hours is what i may do....!!!!

it was getting stuffy by the time i was near vivekananda house....at the gandhi statue it was very very hot....picked up a water bottle from a volunteer and took a bit of honey....and continued....by the time i was at santhome church...mind games started....i was very unsure how it will be at besant nagar beach....i kept going till foreshore estate and then i slowed further and started walking.i saw the possible winners returning...they were running hard...man these guys were good and young i thought....

.didnt like the alpinelibe...threw it...took a sip of the electrol bottle and went on.....when i crossed the 8 k mark ....i was saying ok,at 10k stop and take auto back...this heat will kill for sure....i still kept going....after the adyar bridge ......i saw another CR runners....cursed the weather ...but he didnt respond...i picked up speed and started to run....kept slowly..had 2 more water breaks....saw mohan was coming back.... balaji,tiger,ramani were returning back.....cheered and waved.....i went on....i was not going to stop till i get to the half way mark.....i was getting low on electrolytes.....then i opened the gel pack at the besant nagar beach...it was 8.am....started going on it at a very small gulps every 2 or 2.5 k distance......made it back to theosophical society road.....many runners who ran never knew or had no no practise of long distance running.....i was feeling angry at the idea of why they should try.....i was also cursing myself for taking this half marathon....instead i should have run a 7k...i would atleast have a place i thought....

kept moving slowly.....never stopped till i came near ayyapan temple....there i asked for some ice as my left calf was getting stiff.....the paramedics were kind but they didnt have any ice...but gave me some chilled water pack....i used it...found no releif....so went back to fast walk till ICICI bank,then i started to dig in to a water pot....took 2 good cups finished the gel....and started to run again......was doing this run walk routine till foreshore estate...by now i was confident of finishing within 3 hours....i ran on the other side which was shady...till santhome church..finished all my electrol and honey from my belt pouch..

.i again tried for some ice....but no they didnt have....by now the sirens of the ambulances were going on frequently.....i thought man....some guy is real bad....i didnt expect any one will die...but one did..!!!....i kept going till A.I.R  building and was expecting to see a finish line.....but no...i was to witness sheer chaos....if shahul has not met me near gandhi statue,at the queen mary's....i was still unsure where to stop.....then i stopped my watch...3.05 hours...ok...i finished...i walked a little but i wanted shade......and the only place was a medical help shamiana.....slowly walked there took a water bottle from a doc and sat down to relax......there no certs to receive...no timings...bad show...i thought

 it was a bad experience as a runner died  during the last leg of this race.....but this was a far better in terms of water availablity than all the previous marathons here...

i think the above photo of me was taken near the besant nagar beach on the return after a10k or so it seems......man it was very hot in this stretch......

26 year old rum

yesterday....i was at theosophical society to renew my subscription .As a life member my attendance to Lodge meetings is bad.....i sort wanted to make amends to this....plan to attend this sunday evening meet...lets see.

i went c.swami's house (he is in black shirt)to discuss on his daughter's issue.....i presume it will be a non issue very soon....any way we had a bottle of THUNDERBOLT (army rum full bottle)....made in 1982....we had this 26 year old rum....while the sky thundered and roared ....it was a huge down pour in chennai yesterday the rum was just superb..........we all had dinner that we bought from hotel hollywood

chennai marathon

well a few days back i gave the registration form filled for running the chennai half marathon

it is on 31 july.....6.30 am from island grounds.......all the way thru marina....light house.....fore shore estate...adayar bridge....theosophical society.....to velankanni church..........and turn....back.....same route...and ends at light house....

this is my seventh half......i have done this a few times on same route....so i know this circuit welll.....if i have no injuries.....i will do well to finish by 2 hours and 30 mints.....

my 50th b day

i should have made this entry on sunday the 27th itself.....but you see

it was a very funny way i walked into my 50th year....

as cleo wished me first with a lusty lick to my eyes....ayeesha soon followed.
so did others...thileep and family..thiagu....and many mails from forum members of bigfoot,ubuntu,tech republic,neilslade brain guys,edge,hydroxy.

then the evening started with my class mates from school...i reached raghu's flat a bit late due to rain...yagnesh,c.swami,m.ravi had called since i was late....it was also due to m.g.basker last minute phone....:-)
then i landed at near 7 p.m..t.n sriram i recognised immediately....missed r.balu completely.the guy had sure put on weight...sankaravadivelu was just the same....both these guys had no children. sriram was superb in rendering two songs"mozhi" and "barathi 's chellamadi"...
brandy "R D " WAS TOPPED UP the fastest...c.swami and aska just loved it....francis too...
bacardi went c.swami's way.

i got tipsy...j.swami had arranged for a very tastey veg food ...varieties galore...fruit salad et all......then had to rush off at near 11 pm...to catch the train...which i missed eventually.

why there was no photos...i dont know....i recorded t.n.s song "chellamadi"on my mobile....it has come out well!!!

my 6th half marathon ...3 rd on ECR

yesterday i finished my 6th half marathon.....i did with my group...chennai runners...it was the 7th ECR RUN....the group who had a strength of nearly 100 runners assembled at the start point near a resort on the ECR road a mere 5oo meter before the MGM resorts.
i was at the dimensions at 3.50 am...did a small stretch routine....was a bit high strung about emptying my colons clean....i joined narayan in his car along with madavan and an another arse.

reached the resort in good time....narayanan voluteeren for the reflective stickers...i took mine and headed fr the toilet for a last cleanup.

we started in a staggard manner...30k guys went at 5 am ...20k at 5.10....and 15k at 5.20 and 10k and the rest at 5.30 am...
the day was warm.....
i was feeling good till 8 k....then my shorts was rubbing my inside of my legs for a while....i slowed and continued till 10k hari and his friend were returning....hari saw me slowing and pepped me up saying the water spot is 500 mts ahead...i reached and this is where shahid gave me a paket of power gel green apple flavour...i went at it in one go as shahid advised i took the gel and washed it down with water... karthick and vidyuth were offering drinks at this junture to all the runners.....ramani was also there...we joked about zooming to the other end back....i asked shahid when will the power jel hit me....vidyut in his own style said"it is a mellow hit" meaning a la bacardi style....but continued to say"i took this in singapore marathon and it dehydrated me...."shahid said then u probably took it straight down from the pkt....the directions are to take the gel first and wash it down yr throat with a few gulps of water.....any way we all had a good laugh...
me and ramani started back slowly....i expected it will improve my legs stiffness in 10 mints...but i didnt get it....ramani went ahead ....soon after the reaching the next water spot....shahid crossed me again...and asked me how did i feel....i said i am feeling ok...but only after 2k i felt the difference...and said to shahid "i may need 4 gel packs to do a half marathon"....he said "no...you took it after u were drained...but it gives good results if taken before...so u actually need 2 pkts...ok"....thanks shahid....i will remember...i plan to do more runs with the power gels....

the thing was i didnt have stiff legs or muscles...but my shoe gave me probs...so i rested at muttukadu and took off my shoe socks and found blister getting ready (tiger)ramesh's cousin gave me company herethis guy was making his first attempt at 20k he was really down...also his new shoe was a problem....well this blister slowed me further....i rested at muttukadu...shumit was the water man....bless you guys....ramani was already there before me.....well...from muttukadu....walked all the way till the MGM and ran from there to finish at a time of 2.hrs and 40 mints.....my second worst timing

ram finished his 30k at around the same time.....narayanan around came 20 mints after ram...k.p came later

soon others came in from the 20k and 30k group......we had a ok break fast....missed the omlettes...coffee and tea were not inspiring.....i had good ice massage for my legs by myself....then had a shower changed....and hari and his friend dropped me back at dimensions..we shared a lot of jokes on the way back...how i am having a great fight with my "alarm"....etc..... frm there i took my bike back to home at 11.45....

thileep came home with his brother in law at 2.30 p.m...had a large bacari lemon at home which he had brought....and a few beers at cheers bar....had briyani at buhari and i was dropped at home

slept at around 5 p.m...got up at 12 midnight...had a cold tomato rice...and back to bed....

running

yesterday i did my usual 10k run.....but was not my best.....i ached a bit....but my friend brought over tiger beer in the evening.....wow...it made my day....
this morning when i got up...i had a nagging pain in my right side...almost on the hip area....i remember some time back i had to chk my stride rotatation....cud it be the actual problem...?
or should i try some lowering of distance.....and some pilates as exercise to mend it.....

oh...i wish i knew it sooner the cause.....i thought i will try the pilates....have a lot of downloads ....

i hope it is not IT band syndrom....eeeckh.....

worry.....i didnt want to upgrade.....and the linux fedora......what a pain....my dual boot was so
possesive it wouldnt let the other work.....any way....i have my pilates files saved and shifted to my other mobile unit....

cleo...goggles...rusty

cleo....a 8 year old spaniel....the leader of the pack.....my daughter chose her from a abondoned dog rescue home....she was just 7 months old then scared of fire crackers sound...but tolet trained !!!.....all she did was look at my daughter and stay with her when she asked this little one..."will you come with me?"....cleo just stayed next to my daughter....and was duly carried in my kids lap all the way home.....


googles....1 year old indian native breed called "kanni"....oh she is a hand full...cleo is very upset that she never obeys 100% all the time....so growls and gruffs and nips are there.....the word "cleo" sends googles to a quite corner always..goggles is typically brave inside the home....but tails tucked when out on a walk with the pack.

rusty...1 year old indian breed called "sippi parai"...he is cool cat...very dignified...and always playing chasing games with goggles after meals.....has an eye thats always looks as if there is mascara on the eye lashes.....loves apples and mangoes!!!

first this has to be said.....when i brought these little devils in a paper bags (they were 3 weeks old) from rajapalayam...then to dindugal...and from there in train to chennai in a small wooden crate...i told the TTE(travelling ticket examiner) i was carrying a box of tomatoes.....pretty soon these devils pushed open the crate's loose plank /paper and kept peering all thru the night.....in fact they were given a dose of tranquilizer tabs in milk before the journey.....hhhmmmmm that had no effects at all...!!!

i have been blogging for the past .....from 03...infact...in krify.com.....but as you should know ...these people there sold the site and moved on...no info given to bloggers....i fumed....

i didnt want gemany to hold the cup.....infact i thought the orange played better than the kaiser's boys.....but russia was a genie in a bottle....ok i thought....it will be russia in the finals i thought....

after all when the finals started....i was rooting for a draw in the regular time.....but it was not to be
